Monklands Women’s Aid (MKWA) is a charity delivering a range of high quality responsive services to prevent and respond to domestic abuse against women, children and young people. The role of Director is to ensure the strategic direction, effective management and accountability of MKWA. We are looking for committed and enthusiastic women from all backgrounds, who have an understanding of the gendered analysis of domestic abuse and can bring their knowledge and skills to MKWA to develop and support our service, objectives and mission through feminist governance. 
 
Specifically:  Participation through MKWA Board induction process and procedures   Commitment to strong and appropriate governance of the charity at all times, with the provision of guidance and leadership   Supporting and ensuring the development and implementation of the strategic and operational plan(s)  in conjunction with the staff team  Promote and commit to our strategic aims  Attendance and participation at Board meetings (8 weekly)  Attendance at AGM  Be an advocate for MKWA  Participation in and contribution to sub groups  Effective management of risk at MKWA  Ensure service user needs are at the forefront of all decisions, where possible and appropriate   Developing and maintaining an effective Board  Participation in occasional recruitment, development days and organisational events  A commitment of a minimum of a one year term   To adhere to all MKWA policies and procedures, including Safeguarding; Child & Adult protection etc  Ensure the accountability of MKWA in accordance with all legal requirements, including but not restricted to, OSCR, Inland Revenue, Companies House, SSSC, Care Inspectorate and other stakeholders.  Any other duties as reasonably required by the funder and / or MKWA
